Please read the following instructions carefully before using your new LCD Digital Electronic Safe.

Your digital electronic safe is supplied to you with three(3) keys.  The master key is square topped and will override the numerical code.  This key should be stored in a secured place where it can be accessed if you forget your code, lose your other keys, or if the batteries that operate the LCD system go dead (Do Not store this master key in this safe).  The other two keys are standard operating keys for everyday use and do not override your personal numerical code.

YOUR NEW ELECTRONIC SAFE INITIAL COD IS SET AT:  *7777#
Brink's recommends that you immediately change this code to your own personal code.

HOW TO SET YOUR OWN PERSONAL CODE (MAXIMUM 6 DIGITS)
Find the round hole located on the inside panel of the door and press the button inside with a pen point.  You will hear a tone when it is pressed.  Now enter from three (3) to six (6) digits using the following sequence:

1234#
Your new combination is now set and can be used to open your safe at any time.

HOW TO USE YOUR ELECTRONIC SAFE
1.  Insert key in lock and press in your personal code (*Number#).  Turn key (on Model 5198D turn handle) within three seconds to keep door from relocking automatically.
2.  If a wrong code is attempted 4 times, the locking system will not work for 5 minutes and continued wrong attempts will prolong the locked period up to 30 minutes.  This is to prevent an unauthorized person from opening your safe.
3.  If battery charge is low, L-BATT will appear in the LCD window and the batteries must be replaced.

SETTING TIME DELAY DOOR OPENING (SPECIAL FEATURE)
Important:  You cannot open the safe door again until the delay time has been reached.
1.  Open the safe door with the square topped master key.
2.  Locate the small hole midway up on the inside of the safe door.  With a wire rod or pencil push into the hole for three seconds until the beep tone stops and TE appears in the LCD window.
3.  Enter the time delay you want by pressing two digits up to a maximum 30 minutes delay.  (Example: 01 for 1 minute delay, 02 for 2 minute delay, 10 for 10 minute delay).
4.  Press in your personal code again after completing the delay function for your safe door to open.

CHANGING ELECTRONIC KEY PAD BATTERIES
If battery charge level is low, the L-BATT signal will appear in LCD window on the key pad and batteries must be replaced for the electronic system to work properly.
1.  Battery compartment is located on the safe door next to the key pad.  Push up on cover at indicator arrow to remove cover and expose batteries.
2.  replace all 4 AA batteries as a set each time.  DO NOT intermix old and new batteries.
3.  Make sure that batteries are installed properly and fully seated.  Reinstall battery cover.
